This document provides a guideline for user who is using Million Software with multiple users (LAN version) and need to perform backup server database from workstation. By referring to this, user able to backup server database in workstation without access server PC to backup server database.
NOTES: Below steps are for workstation only (not applicable server)
Case 1: Store the backup copy in server only.
Case 2: Store the backup copy in workstation and server.
Case 1: Store the backup copy in server only
1. In workstation, go to System then Backup Database.
2. Click on Options
3. Tick on the option Copy the backup file
4. In Copy From – Click on the button to locate the database in server.
5. Select the database in server
6. Click OK
7. To store the backup copy in server only, ensure the Copy To directory is same as the Copy From directory.
8. Click OK
9. Ensure the directory path in Backup To has the same directory as Copy From.
10. Click OK
11. Click Yes
12. Click OK
13. Million then perform backup. Go to server according to the directory path for the backup copy.
Case 2: Store the backup copy in workstation and server
1. In workstation, go to System then Backup Database.
2. Click on Options
3. Tick on the option Copy the backup file
4. In Copy From – Click on the button to locate the database in server
5. Select the database in server
6. Click OK
7. To store the backup copy in both server and workstation, in Copy To select the directory to store the backup copy.
8. Click OK
9. Ensure the directory path in Backup To has the same directory as Copy From.
10. Click OK
11. Click Yes
12. Click OK
13. Million then perform backup. Go to server according to the directory path for the backup copy.
14. In workstation, go to the directory according to Copy To for the backup copy.
